Osha has been a regular contributor to Rolling Stone magazine. His work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Salon, Mother Jones, The New Republic and other publications. Osha co-wrote the screenplay for the IMAX® documentary, Coral Reef Adventure.

Fire in the Turtle House was named one of the best spiritual books of the year by Spirituality & Practice magazine.

The Best of Enemies was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in history and was a finalist for the New York City Public Library Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism. In 2007, Duke University gave a special edition of Best of Enemies to all incoming students.

Under Fire, a social/political history of the National Rifle Association, was a New York Times notable book of the year.

The Enchanted Braid was short-listed for the UK Natural World Book Award (also known as the Green Booker Prize). Coral Reef Adventure was the highest grossing documentary film of the year and was voted Best Picture of the year by the Giant Screen Theatre Association.

Osha is member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Writers Guild of America, West, Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
